Shaun Rogers avoids felony gun charge
"Cleveland Browns nose tackle Shaun Rogers(notes) entered a diversion program Thursday to avoid trial on an airport weapons charge, but he still faces a possible NFL suspension."
""We are reviewing it under our policies," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told The Associated Press in an e-mail after Rogers’ court appearance."
Maybe the league will go easy on him in light of the legal outcome, but I wouldn't be surprised if he still gets one or two games.

I think he’ll still see a suspension. 2 games sounds about right.

I don’t think the league will punish him since there was no intent of doing something that could harm the league’s image. I think Goodell just tells Rogers that he is an idiot and to not let it happen again.

It does hurt the league’s image and Goodell is a stickler (too strict for my tastes). Though a suspension does seem harsh here — I predict a heavy fine and some other type of non-suspension punishment.

what I said was that there was no intent of something that could harm the league’s image. I do agree that it does hurt it, but there was no intent to do that. He was just being an idiot. I would agree with a fine only handed out.

one game wouldn’t seem out of line, but the prosecuter’s decision sure makes it seem like he believes it was unintentional. I think combine that with Roger’s manning up to it right away and I think he could get by without a suspension.

When I did the DL preview a few weeks ago, I was writing it late at night and I put down “Roger’s.” I kept staring at it, thinking, “why doesn’t that look right?” Finally it clicked after a few minutes.

It was so nice of Dorn to admit his wrongdoing right away.
