Maybe Goodell can factor this in when deciding Big Shaun's suspension. Either way, nice to read about a Cleveland Brown doing right by the Police.

Update from Chris: TMZ.com has posted the audio of Rogers' call with 911, as well as a document of the police force thanking him.

It would be really hard to give him any more than a game now, I would think.

All should be forgiven now in my opinion. Sure, he made a mistake with the gun thing, but now he’s saving lives.

Fixed.

yeah, that’s what I really think, but I bet Goodell doesn’t want to seem like he goes easy on some players and hard on others.

It’s nice to read about anyone doing this kind of thing.

But, my conspiratorial mind wonders if it’s a set up to convince the commish to avoid a suspension. Shaun Rogers could have offered half a week pay to these kids to drive drunk and have Shaun be the hero. (Crazier things have happened)…

But, this type of story is a great lead in to training camp.

yeah…people are really chomping at the bit to get payed to receive 3 days in jail, a 250 dollar fine, and 6 points on their license…

this is the stupidest theory I think I have ever heard.

$250? That seems very low. Mine was $1450.

It’s not a lie if you believe it.

by Brownie's Year on Jul 22, 2010 7:10 PM EDT up reply actions

250 is the minimum fine I saw for the state of Ohio…This was just for the state of Ohio. They can be up to 1500 I believe in Ohio (at least thats what It said) and its rarely 250…plus then there is the cost to tow the car, get a lawyer, even if you don’t get a lawyer pay court costs, then you have to pay to get your license renewed, pay for driving courses, etc…

So that fine of 250 will cost you a lot more…and thats just the minimum.

It’s good to see “good” stories for a change instead of drug charges, gun charges, purple drank, etc.
