Ramblings from a storied idiot....

Too many tricks up their sleeves?  Option running?  Wallace and Cribbs, sounds like the Wing-T, doesn't it?

Star-divide

I can't help but sit and ponder,

At my Browns future I wonder.

A West Coast approach I say,

"There in no way, no way, no way."

A quarterback on the fritz,

A weak receiving core and no blitz.

The offense should sputter,

and the defense fail.

For no quarterback rush

We will not prevail.

Some sad safety play,

And a linebacking core the should stay,

HOME!

What we need!

We need power I

A Browns identity,

Some Hardesty,

what I thought Droughns should be.

Run Power I with TE slots.

Ben Watson used to run them a lot.

And Robiskie and Massaquoi can run some slants.

Hardesty up the middle and Harrison in the flats.

That's what makes sense to me.

No experimental options west coast offense,

aka "lack of identity."

While I certainly enjoyed the poem, and it was pretty well written (minus a few typos, but thats to be expected), I disagree that there is an identity problem here. not that we’re running the WCO, but if we were, that wouldn’t mean we lacked an identity. There are other “identities” out there besides power running, of which we will be doing a lot.

I have been complimented many times and they always embarrass me; I always feel that they have not said enough.

Can we think of a single formidable team that lacks an identity? I understand that there are other identities to have other than powerball, but the line, receiving core, quarterback, running backs (Hardesty and Jennings) all indicate our strength would consist of high percentage throws to Watson and a lot of Hardesty and Jennings between the tackles. Keep the chains moving and our D off the field.

PS. If we aren’t WCO then what are we running?

GLO not the WCO buddy.

I can't believe Cribbs was considered the second best athlete in Cleveland.

I said it before and I’ll say it again, North Coast Offense sounds better, makes it more “us”, there’s a lot of other teams on the Great Lakes.

For the love of Joe Thomas.....

we’re running what some people call the “new england style” offense. its very versatile, doesn’t depend on one thing. I don’t really understand what sets it apart from other schemes, but I’m sure someone else on here could explain it. we’re incorporating some west coast concepts, but so does every team. as for naming a team that was successful doing what we’re doing, I believe I’ve already mentioned them, and they were pretty darn successful.

so your idea completely writes jerome harrison out of the gameplan? that dude just can’t catch a break.

I’m just not sure how durable Harrison is. I also beleive the Browns have a very deep RB group that may see Harrison at the bottom before it’s all said and done. Remember how good Davis looked through the preseason last year while Harrison was hurt?

Running a “West Coast” offense does not mean a lack of running the ball or a lack of power running.

Shaun Alexander ran the ball a lot one year in Holmgren’s “West Coast” offense.

Additionally, a lot of times it is actually easier to run WCO passing concepts with multi back or multi TE personnel, which means it is probably easier to pair that kind of passing with a power running game (vs. a more “spread” vertical passing game).

I suspect that we know we’ll be running when we need the tough yard on 3rd and 1.

I read the title to this post, and my first thought was “Why would anyone interview SpecialBrownie?”
