Angry Browns Fan vs. Optimistic Browns Fan (pt. 1)

Two men are sitting at a sports bar on a quiet sports night.  Soon they begin discussing their favorite teams, heartbreaks and outlooks on the season.

Angry Browns Fan:  I am having trouble trusting the inconsistent and used arm of Jake Delhomme.  The QB position is very shaky but that pales in comparison to the right side of our line.  Oh, and not to mention of very untested backfield.  So many fans are banking on Harrison being a legitimate threat.  I think I saw it as a fluke.  A young, hungry and shifty back making his realdebut against sub par run defenses on a team that was willing to run the ball 45-50 times a game if they could.  Oh yeah, an ancient pickup at the tight end position in Ben Watson.  Sure he can catch the ball but he is slowing and isn't as strong of a run blocker anymore.  The wide receivers are young, untested and show a limited amount of potential.

Optimistic Browns Fan:  I question that.  I see Delhomme as an obvious upgrade at the QB position.  A veteran, leader that has the potential to fulfill the position adequately.  And that is more than we could have expected without the pickup and/or moves.  Harrison is young and shifty as you said and you pair him with a bruiser in Hardesty.  Throw in the fact that you have a very solid left side of the line to run behind.  Or you can set up the screen to Harrison.  Oh yea, Watson allows our tight end to slip out so we can run our West Coast style, wide, spread, and seek and destroy offense.  Another nice thing is that this offense keeps their offense off the field.  That is why we improved....

Angry Browns Fan:  Wow, hold on their buddy.  I think you've been breathing too much of that nasty air in Northeast Ohio.  Slow your role.  The defense is as Stoney LaRue would say "shot full of holes."  This defense does a better job of resembling a strainer rather than an NFL defense.  Since the 3-4 has been implemented the Browns have carried below average linebackers, poor DE's and a spotty secondary.  Sheldon Brown was to address the "shutdown corner" issue.  (You true Browns fans know exactly what I mean)  Unfortunately, the Browns are a dollar short and day late with Mr. Brown.  Other than the Smith's having off the field issues and gaining weight the defensive line should be great.  And finally  the linebacker problems have all been solved, thank you Scott Fajita!

Optimistic Browns Fan:  Wrong again.  Haden and Brown do strengthen the CB position considerably.  Safety is still a concern but Fujita does make our linebacking core better.  He has leadership, experience and should be a positive impact in the locker room.  There is also alot of hope for Clifton Geathers to really show up.

Regardless of whom you are in this situation one thing is for certain, we still love our Cleveland Browns!

Ben Watson is still in his 20’s isn’t he?

Watson’s a good TE, he never got the ball in NE, so your bad view of him is skewed.

He was a very solid tight end until they got Welker, making their use for Watson less.

Right.

and even before, he was underused IMO.

Yes. TEs and slot WRs can do a lot of the same jobs in terms of pass plays and I believe NE just went to more WRs to stop pretending they want to be a power running team.

haha…I was not talking about BB…In fact, my name is also brad (if this has never been mentioned) so I was more arguing my 2 personalities/

Jerry: the bubbly young man who is the center of parties and is very carefree…but really, jerry wants to be needed and loved and fills the lack of love by trying to be liked by all…Jerry is liked by all but loved by none…

Brad: who can be pretentious and act like he is better than people…and occasionally go where it is not his business…but deep down brad has a good heart, but his pride, ego, and love of argument alienate those possible friends.

I like this, but prefer the Huh Monkey. You are much better about reserving him for appropriate situations than I would be.

You got the first two steps correct. But, before you paste it, do this…click the last icon (picture of a tree) in the toolbar above the posting text box. Paste the link in THAT box. It’s better to hit the “Preview” button before you click “Post” to make sure it works.

Is this pic about Lequitter? Or his posse? Glad he’s not our problem anymore. Now the Browns will be the only focus in Cleveland. BTW I’m trying to one of the bars in my city to be a Browns Clubhouse during the season. We have like 24 people, mostly military guys from Ohio.
