Ravens reach agreement with T.J. Houshmandzadeh | ProFootballTalk.com
PFT reports that "Housh Yo Daddy" is heading to Baltimore to join Derrick Mason, Anquan Boldin, & Donte Stallworth. This could end up being the most potent passing attack in the league if all the parts click.

PFT’s report says he basically signed for peanuts, putting the screws to his last two teams. First, he’ll be playing the Bengals twice a year after Marvin Lewis publicly snubbed him and he’s making the Seahawks pay him the difference in the $7mil guaranteed salary (a hair over $6mil) to play for another team.
It’s also a good move for the Ravens, given there’s not too high a financial investment. It’s more or less a “prove yourself” contract.
They’re going to need him. With their crappy DBs, they’ll be in some shootouts this year.
It’s not a lie if you believe it.
their DBs aren’t ‘crappy’. they have a very solid 1-2 punch at their first 2 CB positions with Hall and Joseph. However, they get killed if you spread them out. Their first 2 CBs are good, but they have no depth at CB and their safeties aren’t good in coverage either…I guess I understand how you can see their DBs as ‘crappy’, I just disagree.

oh…for some reason I thought we were talking about the bengals…I guess my mind was thinking TJ and thinking he was back on the bengals or something. I guess then I do agree quite a bit with BY, especially if Ed Reed doesn’t come back.

I’m going to be honest, their receiving core is a helluva lot better than ours. Then again we’re a young non-playoff team looking to grow and get better, their making moves that they hope will put them over edge for a Super Bowl.
Smart move by the Ravens, if he was a bargain. As sad as it is to admit, they’ve got a damn good team outside of the DB injury issues.

No offense to you personally but I am so tired of phrases like" young", “rebuilding”," non-playoff" etc being used as an excuse for not trying to get quality players. If they don’t want to play in Cleveland than fine, but our bottom of the barrel FAs is getting pathetic. We should be acting no differently from a team supposedly one piece away from the SB. Realistically, every team is one guy away from the playoffs

Until we start winning, we’ll have to overpay for top-shelf free agents. It’s better to build from within than handcuff ourselves with overpriced players.

This is going to make those DB vs WR match-ups even more important than ever. As of right now, we have 3 good corners and some decent safties to go against 3, at worst, above average wideouts. I think this will be the best, in division, test of how good are guys are.
None of the 3 are a deep threat though, it will be a matter of staying with them and making the tackle since they all can slip tackles and get the YAC.

thats true. thats the only downside I see to this. the bengals have pretty much 3 posession style receivers and only stallworth to really stretch the field effectively (and I can’t believe i just called Stallworth effective). This definitely helps though and they might be one of the most dangerous teams on third downs next year (so many options, 3 reliable WRs, a good RB who can also catch out of the backfield)

You’ve made several posts that have held the same tone: “makes no sense why the Browns didn’t do this; meanwhile the Ravens make the right moves; by the way, the LeBron thing hurt Cleveland; looks like another bad season.” We’re not interested in being trolled upon, but you can visit the Cleveland.com forums if you wish to do that.

Chris, a basic rule of the internet is not to feed the trolls, they thrive on angry replies, hence why I bit my tongue and hit cancel.

Each and every post I’ve made has been witty, intellegent and factual. If I wanted to troll I’d just make posts saying LOLOL Browns suck LOLOLOL. Jeez, lighten up.

I guess witty, intelligent, and factual are relative terms.
I have been complimented many times and they always embarrass me; I always feel that they have not said enough.
