Strangely Quiet......
Was today not the day that Homgren was to meet with the coordinaters regarding their job status?
So far I have not seen or heard a report anywhere. Anybody that has Twitter access hear anything?
I would think that the Cleveland media (with it's current drought of viable sports news) would be dying for a story with more teeth and substance than conjecture about who may be interviewed for the Head Coaches position. {yawn}

I’ve read a few conflicting rumors on a couple of other blogs, but not a peep from any ‘major sources’.
I’ll be surprised if Ryan is let go (barring an announcement that he’s taken a HC job somewhere else of course).
As for Daboll, I’d be surprised if Holmgren doesn’t go ahead and send him on his way so he can start looking for other opportunities.

It’s interesting to me that Daboll wasn’t shipped off already.

The only rumor I have seen that Jauron is a good candidate for DC if Shurmur gets the job. this was from Grossi
I would like Jauron as a DC, but not if it means Shurmur is the coach.

I’m not worried about the offense if Shurmur is coach. If we go 4-3 we had better get someone in the Johnson/Spagnuolo tree who is going to blitz the s&#% out of everyone.
I broke down how Shurmur totally dominated our defense in the preseason and if that and having Bradford throw for 3k+ yards in his rookie season with worse WRs than ours is any indication, the dude knows offense.

i don’t think their corps is worse than ours.
I’d call it even, if not leaning to Rams.
Really hard to compare no-name WR’s to no-name WR’s.
also, Amendola’s return game probably trumped Cribb’s this year. :-/

Well this is a tremendous loss. Will the Hurricanes WR’s start running routes 3 yards short of the 1st down marker next year too?
“BEREA — Browns wide receivers coach George McDonald is leaving the team — again.
McDonald has been hired for the same job with the Miami Hurricanes.
It’s the second time in two years McDonald has left the Browns. When Eric Mangini’s job status was being reviewed by President Mike Holmgren a year ago, McDonald accepted the receivers job with Rutgers University. McDonald then returned to the Browns when Mangini was retained.
The assistant coaching staff of Mangini, who was fired after his second 5-11 season, is in limbo. Holmgren met with the coaches on Monday and didn’t technically fire anyone, nor did he guarantee any would return."
From Grossi.
What does that MEAN - TO PLAY US OUT?!!?!?
The chances of Ryan staying just went up when Carolina announced Rivera as next Panther HC. RR hasn’t interviewed with any other teams that I’m aware of. Hope this announcement and lack of Browns release indicates he is staying. He’s a good coach who gives Browns a little continuity going forward.

It will be up to the new HC whether or not Ryan stays.

I don’t know. If Holmgren brings in an OC, which seems very likely at this point (assuming Gruden is out), seems like Holmgren may have more of a hand in the decision of whether Ryan should stay on board or not.

He’s on record as saying the coach will get to run whatever system he wants, so if a coach doesn’t want Ryan, he’s gone.

I assume that you are not including Cabot and Grossi in that statement. I’m pretty sure they prefer the former to the latter.
I am effing hurdling you and you can't stop me.
You are correct. I’m not sure what would make me get my hopes up for anything more than the usual drivel.
What does that MEAN - TO PLAY US OUT?!!?!?
Grossi and Cabot truly drive me nuts. I cannot stand to listen to them talk let alone read their crap they get paid to write. It is a travesty. My opinion is we draft a new sports writer with our first round pick.
I think they should stay in school and finish their degree programs first.

And with the first pick of the sportswriter’s draft, the Cleveland Plain Dealer selects Chris Pokorny!

-What’s this, it looks like Cleveland is trading back up into the first round.. and they’re selecting… Adrock2099?!
-A shocking move, to say the least.
-Yeah, this really seems like a reach to me, Tom.
"Quote goes here."
-I really think they should have taken Rufio with that pick.

I am in no way fast enough or strong enough to play in the NFL.
