In some form of brilliance long since absent from ESPN (somebody must've had an out of world experience there to come up with this), the network created a great set of sports related movies that capture sports in a whole new light. I'm honestly one movie in but it seems that all the movies they've chosen/ created have great stories.
Right now, in World Pol, we're watching the 30 for 30 movie "Once Brothers" where the nationalistic split of Yugoslavia drove apart the once close relationship had between Vlade Divac and Drazen Petrovic. I love Vlade and how a simple act of grabbing a flag turned his world upside down. We're only an hour in but I love how it was done. The information and emotions from the split of them and Yugoslavia are astounding. Also, they're from the homeland of my nationality as well, so it hits a little close to home. Also have been meaning to see Catching Hell, that one just captures me because of how one fanbase can hate one normal fan so passionately, all over one simple mistake that most of us would have made ourselves.
So, what do you guys think of it? Do you guys like the 30 for 30? What ones have you seen that you would recommend? Anyone hope ESPN can build off of this and not run it into the ground like everything else?
