Long time reader, don't post much. But now is the time of the year where I start obsessing over the NFL draft for the next 5 months. tell me what you think of this....Browns draft Trent Richardson with their 1st pick, instantly upgrading our running game immensely.
Browns draft WR KENDALL WRIGHT from Baylor with their 2nd overall pick. Baylor's leading receiver for the past 4 years, has 101 receptions for 1,572 yards this year, with 13 tds. Runs just under a 4.4, finally giving the browns some f***ing speed! Too short, you say? Wright has a 42 inch vertical to make up for his lack of elite height. He averaged 179 yards a game against ranked opponents this year. He is likely to put up crazy numbers at the combine, and I wouldn't be surprised if he goes top 15. Aren't you tired of looking at guys like mike wallace and torrey smith and wishing we had some of that speed? I know I am.
With the 2nd round pick, we get a solid OT. This draft is a good one for o lineman, so we should definitely be able to pick up a talented guy in the early 2nd round.
Suddenly, our o-line consists of, from left to right: Thomas, Steinbach, Mack, Pinkston, "2nd round pick". Or if your worried about two young guys on the right, keep pinkston on the left. Not bad at all. Especially with trent frickin richardson running behind them. Plus an absolute freak at WR lined up alongside greg little (who should improve upon a solid rookie campaign...I think alot of people forget this was his first year of football since '09")
That sounds pretty potent, if you ask me. If mccoy doesn't succeed with an offense like that, lets go get a qb. But lets give him some weapons and protection first.
