Super Bowl XLV - Official Game Thread

If you are looking for a pregame breakdown of today's Super Bowl, then check out my position-by-position review from this morning. Ben Roethlisberger will be trying to capture his third Super Bowl, while Aaron Rodgers will try to capture his first. Both teams have clutch offenses, and both teams have playmaking defenses. In a game that looks like an even battle on paper, which team will come up with that defining moment that allows them to bring home the Lombardi trophy?

VS.

Game: Green Bay Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Date/Time: Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. EST
Local Television: FOX, Channel 8 (Cleveland)
Announcers: Joe Buck & Troy Aikman

This is the official game thread for the Packers vs. Steelers game. Any comments regarding the game as it is taking place should go in this thread. As the number of comments increase during the game, there will be one or more "overflow" threads where the rest of the discussion will be continued.

Let's not see Pittsburgh take home another title, GO PACKERS!!!

Did anyone in the media ever ask Mendenhall about this, and if so, what was his response?

This may make me sound naive, but I had no idea that the cheapest SB ticket was $2,000. Crazy.

You don’t have a TV?

by emily522 on Feb 6, 2011 5:54 PM EST up reply actions

There is a 56 inch HDTV in the other room that will have the game on.

I’d rather (attempt to) watch a stream of it on my desktop so my interest can remain occupied.

Generally, the only games I do find it worth my time to watch in the other room are Browns and Buckeye games.

You know who I’m jealous of? The photographers who get to be on the field. I do that for Clemson, and it’s awesome. I can’t imagine getting to be on the field for actual NFL games.

I came home to watch the game with my dad and we were just in the house yelling, “PACKERS! PACKERS! PACKERS!”. A few seconds later we hear the kids outside yelling, “GREEN BAY! GREEN BAY!”

Maybe someday. Now that we have an offensive system I can dream. Lot of similiarities between Colt and Rogers if you think of it. Both downgraded because they are not the ideal height. Both accurate. Both mobile. But I know that Colt has a long way to go to deserve to be mentioned with Aaron.
