With the 31st pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select...

Aaron Williams, CB, Texas

This selection and write-up was made by SpecialBrownie:

Originally, I wanted to pick Pouncey here. The twin duo would've set that line for ages, but since I can't I figured the best pick here if for Pittsburgh to go secondary. Pittsburgh secondary is usually always the worst part of their already dominating defense. Only reason it gets by is because of Polamalu (the minute he's out, their secondary gets destroyed). Taylor is a serviceable veteran by Gay cannot hold up to the standards of a Lebeau defense. Williams has the ability to immediately contribute, whether it be at CB or FS.

Williams is a little but of a reach where the Steelers are sitting but he'll be gone by the time they pick again. Williams might start a little rough in the NFL if he starts directly at starting CB, but could ease into the position well with immediate starts at FS. In the end, this kid could be good to great for the Steelers for a decade.

Mike Tomlin and a whole bunch of other staff members from the Steelers were at Williams' Pro Day a couple of days ago, so the interest in him definitely appears to be there. As SpecialBrownie states, the offensive line and the secondary are the primary needs for Pittsburgh at this pick. Quite a few of the attractive offensive linemen are off the board, so nabbing Williams to try to bring a fresh face to the cornerback position is a good decision.

The Green Bay Packers are on the clock next (email will be sent to ScottJC).
