MIAMI, FL - JUNE 12: Dirk Nowitzki #41 of the Dallas Mavericks reacts behind teammate Jason Terry #31 after Nowitzki makes a jump shot in the fourth quarter while taking on the Miami Heat in Game Six of the 2011 NBA Finals at American Airlines Arena on June 12, 2011 in Miami, Florida. This is a Cleveland Browns blog. Tonight, it is also a place where you can rejoice in the success of the Dallas Mavericks and the failure of the Miami Heat. I am a die-hard Cavaliers fan, but this series, the Mavericks were a fitting substitute for me. LeBron James failed to get a title and Dirk Nowitzki shined in the spotlight. You knew that Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert would have a response after the game (via Twitter):
Congrats to Mark C.& entire Mavs org. Mavs NEVER stopped & now entire franchise gets rings. Old Lesson for all: There are NO SHORTCUTS. NONE.
Nowitzki stayed loyal to Dallas. LeBron didn't stay loyal to Cleveland. Tonight, there were no shortcuts -- Nowitzki took the long road and it ultimately paid off.
