Cowboys Contact S Abram Elam Tuesday Morning
All offseason, Dallas Cowboys fans made the connection between safety Abram Elam, new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, and the vacancy they have at the safety position. According to Cowboys beat reporter Clarence Hill, as soon as teams were allowed to contact free agents, Dallas took advantage:
On the safety front, Abe Elam is the first safety the Cowboys called at 10 am this morning..they like him more than Mike Huff.
Teams cannot start signing free agents until Friday, so if the Browns are interested in retaining Elam, they still have time to negotiate with him. With that said, the Cowboys might drive his price up, and Elam might feel more comfortable playing with the defensive coordinator and system he's been in the past two years.

Good luck with that, Dallas.

Nope, check the avatar. Plus the use of the subject line.
Apparently it’s unBrown.

I’m hella confused. The Cowboys.

Is Melvin Bullitt a FA?

He’s not bad. He mailed it in at the end of the season, but he had a stretch where he was the best playmaker on our defense last season.
Yep.

The problem is that with Boss Ward’s relative shortcomings in coverage (and true excellence in run support) we need a FS who excels in the former. Abe Elam ain’t him. Who is? I cant profess to know but Mikell would’ve been nice . . .

Weddle is a warm weather, west coast guy and I havent seen much to lead me to believe he would consider becoming a Brown.

I listened to Adam Schein every Sunday when I had Sirius NFL Radio. I was entertained by the structure of the show and thought he was fine, but I wouldn’t say he was an “expert” or anything like that.

I’ve just been scavenging Twitter, it seems like we aren’t in on Weddle which is a bit disappointing. The stuff on Twitter makes it sound like Donte Whitner wants to be a Brown, but the Browns are seeing how the market for safeties plays out before making a move.
This would be nice. We need some serious help on the line.

Any of the hidden comments not showing up grey for other mods?

They might show up yellow if they are new. Refresh and see if they are greyed out.

Elam has started as the Browns strong safety for two years, with no detriment to his play, he´s been reliable and even exciting, to me he´s a stalwart. Show some class, why must every player be defeated by the ole´ regime change, what´s in it for you that this method prevails? Same goes for the ole´ predisposition for people to tend towards their old breadgivers, why is this tendency so important to you? We did not draft a safety to replace him, there is no one on the team that was able to take the position from him, what makes you so sure he´ll be without a job in Cleveland?
