Browns' Depth Chart for Game Against Packers

Stay connected for news and updates

The Cleveland Browns released their first depth chart in preparation for their game against the Green Bay Packers, as requested by the league. As always, not all of the spots on the depth chart have to make sense, nor do they guarantee a player's roster spot is safe.

OFFENSE

DEFENSE

SPECIAL TEAMS:

NOTES

Despite not playing, running back Montario Hardesty was listed second on the depth chart. That should change, especially when you see a player like tight end Jordan Cameron fourth on the depth chart after missing some time due to injury.

At the receiver position, it looks as though Carlton Mitchell is listed ahead of Jordan Norwood. What isn't indicated on the depth chart is the "slot receiver" position for three-receiver sets. In those cases, I think we'll see Norwood step in with the first-team and the second-team in the slot.

The offensive line shows Branndon Braxton behind Joe Thomas. Big shoes to fill; we'll see if he actually plays with the second unit there, or if he gets more work in at right tackle to prepare for the time Pashos gets hurt.

Look at the linebacker names after Scott Fujita at SLB.

At cornerback, Coye Francies seemed to get the shaft, but this could be a situation where he starts with the second-team secondary. The reason? Dimitri Patterson will probably play nickel back with the first-team, but like the slot receiver position on offense, there is no nickel back position listed on the depth chart.

No sign of Joe Haden on the kick/punt return list. That doesn't mean he won't be an upback though.
