This is just a quick gripe about the new Madden, I only had a little time to play last night since I had to work today. Feel free to add any additional gripes that you have. Xbox 360 version
I have to do this quick while I'm at work.
First thing I noticed, before the game even got started, was that our starting QB (As in Colt McCoy EA!!) gets no respect. If you sit thru the cinematics at the start of the game insted of slamming thru buttons to get to the field. you will notice that Colt is referred to as "The Quarterback", not as Colt McCoy or even Colt or just McCoy. He is just "The Quarterback", even thru 4 quarters of play, whenever they talk about Colt they only refer to him as "The Quarterback" Or "This Quarterback". Now EA had plenty of time to know what Colts name is & that he'd likely be the starter, even though Jake is called out by name Colt gets the cold shoulder.
Secondly, anybody notice how much better Hardesty plays than Hillis at HB? Hillis is the highest rated HB on the team but is the least agile & feels like the slowest runner of the three. I understand that EA has attempted to make the game play more like the real thing by having more realistic reactions by players & what not, although when Hillis gets the ball it almost seems like it's 11 on 1. I had Hillis break a few but nowhere near as often as Hardesty got free, Hardesty seems like a beast breaking tackles & making moves that stump the AI defense while Hillis dose not look near like what we see on the field every Sunday.
Example: Hardesty came in as the first stringers came out of the game, on the second play from scrimmage he got shaken up a bit on a tackle & I was prompted to either get him back on field semi injured or sit him for a play or two. So I sat him & on the next play he was back but at only a 70 rating, he then broke 3 tackles & out ran the entire D for a 72 yard TD. Yea for my team but my god man, he ran like Barry Sanders, with an injury & scored from almost 3/4 of the field away while Hillis gets taken down mostly on the second touch by the D.
