I'm preparing to ask my girlfriend to marry me. I have been to stressed by the lock-out to truly focus on our relationship. Today, after shopping for rings, she asked "how do I know that you'll love me forever, even when I am awful to you and make you sad." My answer was simple and truthful, "Baby, I have loved the Browns fiercely my entire life and they have done nothing but hurt me. I love you like I love the Browns." This is actually what I said, she seemed a little befuddled that I would use a football analogy during perhaps the most important discussion of our life but it was the best example I could think of.
