first off, asomugha is in the NFC (along with most of the top corners in the NFL)
Ike Taylor is pretty mediocre, I don’t see that.

Chill, he probably thought asomugha was still in the raiders. Or something

forgot about that
i forgot he went to the Eagles, i’m thinking he’s on the raiders.
and i heard ike taylor has only 1 pass completed on him for 7 yards

If that’s true, the nod would have to go to Ike Taylor.

Ike Taylor? The guy whos never been to a probowl?
"It is unlikely that anyone has ever read Nietzsche or Derrida and has been inspired to open a soup kitchen"
Its certainly interesting that even in the peak of his career, he couldn’t find his way to Hawaii.
He’s playing well so far this season, so we’ll see how it goes, especially this week against Andre Johnson, but I think in run support, in generating turnovers, etc, he leaves a lot to be desired. He’s just real good in coverage. I’m not convinced he’s better than Joe in coverage.
"It is unlikely that anyone has ever read Nietzsche or Derrida and has been inspired to open a soup kitchen"
Fair enough, but in 8 years that wont be true.
"It is unlikely that anyone has ever read Nietzsche or Derrida and has been inspired to open a soup kitchen"
In 5 months I dont think it will be true.

The pro bowl is a popularity contest
Who ever gets the most votes gets in
by Ice0ne (CAJ) on Sep 28, 2011 6:14 PM EDT up reply actions
Although the relevance of having been to the pro bowl is not great, your statement is not accurate. In the NFL, fan votes are not a high percentage. Coach and player votes are what really count. Thus getting to the pro bowl is a sign of respect from people who know, not a fan popularity contest like in the NBA and MLB.

It’s still pretty much a popularity contest, only it’s of your peers. Unless you play them, coaches and players don’t have time to watch film on others to make their vote nor do they have time to ask around and take their vote too seriously. There votes are based about as much on hearsay and SC as casual fan votes are. Honestly, the fact JT has made it every single year he’s been in the league is due to rep, not people sitting down and watching all the other LTs in the game to make a correct vote.

True story: I had to pick my daughter up from daycare today – she’s 3 – and I asked her what she wanted for dinner. She said, “Pancakes”. We went to IHOP.

Haden is easily the best run support for an elite corner in the league. He’s the most complete corner, even if he’s not a guaranteed shutdown on the edge.
by rebuilding year on Sep 28, 2011 11:28 AM EDT reply actions
So far this year he’s probably played as well as any corner in the league including Revis and Nnamdi who have given up big plays. Haden hasn’t given up anything.
It’s worth mentioning, the play where they were not ready is still something they gave up. It was Joe’s guy that scored. Obviously, the whole unit, including the coaching staff, is responsibl. I’d never pin that play on him, but “gave up nothing” is not entirely true.

No. Haden is the best.
Next question.

silly question.
although he will square off against: Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, (mike Wallace?), and there were a few more big names (Sidney Rice).
If he plays like he did this past weekend, he’ll certainly make a name for himself.
