Should probably just rename us the Cleveland Bears.

If that’ll get us in the playoffs again consistently, I’d be for it.

How about Brown Bears and we go with the matte brown helmets.

by HenryDawg on Jan 18, 2012 6:51 PM EST up reply actions

Love it… is that with or without the brown pants?

I suggested the Baylor Browns a couple weeks ago, haha

by RyanBr on Jan 18, 2012 9:12 PM EST up reply actions

I would be ok with this. Then at #37 a OLB/DE…

by Les Fleurs Du Mal on Jan 18, 2012 1:40 PM EST reply actions

I like Griffin at #4 but I’m not sold at all on Wright. True he has speed but he is going to get killed in the NFL. Remember this guy Jeff Maehl from Oregon last year? He reminds me a lot of Wright—very quick, good hands, etc. He went undrafted and was picked up as a UDF by the Texans where he didn’t even really play at all—and he is 6-0. Wright is 5-10. True he is quick but that height is going to hurt him and I think he is going to have a really hard time staying healthy with 250 lb LBs smacking him down. I’ll take Jeffrey at this spot all day long… Kiper has him going at 31.

Smaller means faster and as long as he doesn’t go over the middle too much, he should be ok. Tackling is a lost art in the NFL most of the time, especially from DBs.

by macdowellm03 on Jan 18, 2012 1:46 PM EST up reply actions

No way Alshon actually goes that low, but in the context of Kiper’s mock I agree. Jeffrey all day long.

DeSean Jackson is 5-10, and Wright actually outweighs him by about 15 pounds. If we do draft Griffin and Wright, Griffin should know his strengths and weaknesses. It just depends on how they use him. But yeah, I would agree on taking Jeffrey if available.

by abock15 on Jan 18, 2012 8:56 PM EST up reply actions

Wright is nowhere as fast as Jackson

by The Licensed Pessimist on Jan 19, 2012 12:11 PM EST up reply actions

Well I guess that depends on what you mean by nowhere near. I also don’t think anyone ever said Wright was as fast as Jackson.

Kipers an idiot. He’s more often wrong than right. I would prefer another DE or LB first ( gotta be a best though), and the second pick can be a WR. 2nd round being either the DE or LB that wasnt taken at #4. Why you might ask? We are finally gonna make a splash in FA and get us at least 1 really good WR, CB, OG.

I’m with you on the first pick. It would be nice to move back to 6 or 7 to get better value though and then grab the DE.

Practically everyone is more often wrong than right when it comes to mock drafts. I don’t think it makes Kiper an idiot…

Lots of things make Kiper an idiot.

Dawgs by Nature -- where Montario Hardesty, apparently, 'did some good things'.

There isn’t a DE that is worth the 4th pick, plain and simple.

Can an Insider please copy and paste the whole thing in a comment?

Under SOPA they could and probably would just take all of DBN down instead of censoring your specific post.

I’d say something about civil liberties, but hey, corporations are people too!

I’m still waiting for that one to come into play in a criminal case. Imagine a CEO and the entire board getting 25 to life.
