Mike Holmgren Likes RG3
One of the site managers for Hogs Haven ran into Mike Holmgren last night in Arizona, and it's very clear he's enamored with Robert Griffin III, who happens to be working out in AZ right now.

Read the article, still can’t find the quote “I like RG3”. I learned when I was young what assume really means. I could write the same artile word for word and title it “Mike Holmgren likes Luck” and the entire article would be still be the same.
Sorry for being a dick, but I am sick of RG3 and he has yet to see an NFL snap. He reminds me of pryer(sp?) from tOSU, but smaller. I my personal opinion “rg3” is just a bling-bling draft pick and not the way to a championship team.
Sorry about slamming your post but he never said he liked RG3
Agreed with the first part, second parts point and tone annoyed me. Was pretty unnecessary.

I’ve never heard this phrase used so much as if it was prolific. Its true of 300 rookies that come out every year.
Also you clearly have no clue what you’re talking about.

Anyone who compares RGIII to Pryor, Vick, or Cam Newton has 3 things going for them:
1) Laziness
2) Lack of internet access to look at stats
3) Has never seen him actually play.
I’m completely sick of this argument already, and it’s only January. Idiocy.

The reference to a “bling bling draft pick” is a classic.

I thought this was interesting, though I was already partially aware of these stats:

Take it for what it is. This doesn’t make me like McCoy anymore, actually reinforces my lack of faith in Bradford.

It does too make you like McCoy more than Bradford.

Where I stood on McCoy remains the same. I think we need a quarterback.
But at least we’re not in the Rams’ situation.

It is interesting, and I’m with you generally. At the same time, I can’t deny that draft position plays a role in my thinking. If we’d taken Colt first overall, I’d be less ok with finding a new QB. It may make no sense, but it’s the truth, at least for me. It has something to do with not wasting the “investment” you’ve made in the draft. Then again, we chose –– ok, I won’t go there.

This is actually a flawed way of thinking. There’s a concept in economics called “sunk costs.” Basically, just because you’ve already invested something, it doesn’t make it a good idea to continue investing. You’re better off cutting your losses.
At the same time, while the performance may be similar, the QBs are not. Sam Bradford is physically a better prospect than McCoy. He will get more time to figure it out, and rightfully so. He doesn’t have to play as perfectly as McCoy does in order to be effective. Basically, his path to success is easier.

Sunk costs or not, 1st rounders get more opportunity to play than non-1st rounders.
More opportunity to play is correlated to better performance.
And 1st rounders are likely to be more talented than non-1st rounders, so knowing or believing (potentially falsely) will give a team reason to give that first rounder more opportunity—exactly like you say about McCoy/Bradford.
And none of this even touches on intangible things like how much the team around him believes in the QB. That raven D looked old and ready to retire the season before Flacco arrived. Tebow and the Broncos, etc.
