Wildcard Weekend: Atlanta Falcons vs. New York Giants
Cleveland Browns fans will have an interest in both of today's playoff games. If the Atlanta Falcons lose in the first-round of the playoffs, Cleveland gets a higher second first-round draft choice in April. Can Matty Ice play an efficient postseason game by hooking up with rookie receiver Julio Jones? Will Eli Manning continue his maturity as a quarterback as Victor Cruz makes defenders miss and their defensive line terrorizes the opposition? Or will we see a "Giant" screw-up? I like the Giants to advance in this one.

The D looks pretty good. Their LB’s are nasty.

Their front seven is really good, but their secondary is pretty bad.

Agreed. And they drafted Prince. Is he hurt?

A lot of their DBs got hurt during the season.

I take that back about Jacobs

None of tht was Jacobs.

He had a nice cut to burn that DB in the second level

I could’ve made that cut.

Oh lol nope. Just a 3-2 score for the half would have been real goofy.

Was it on 4th down? I don’t have the game on at the moment.
Dawgs By Nature - Where winning, apparently, did some bad things.
They ran it on 4th and inches. got the first down

If we didn’t need Atlanta to lose in order to ensure a higher draft pick, I’d be rooting so hard for the falcons

Love that Giants team that won the Super Bowl. Simply because they shouldn’t have.

I have more respect for the Pats of today. Hated the Teddy Brusci teams.

I don’t have any respect for a Bill Bellichick coached team. The man cheated, and not just some technicality. What he did was pretty blatant cheating.
"An intelligent man is sometimes forced to be drunk to spend time with his fools" -Hemingway
He got caught. I’m sure their are other successful teams out there that cheat just as much. Just don’t get caught.
Not defending Bellichick, it’s still wrong.

You’re naive.

How?
"A drug person can learn to cope with things like seeing their dead grandmother crawling up their leg with a knife in her teeth. But no one should be asked to handle this trip." Thompson
Just because other teams are good they have to be cheating like the Pats? No. It’s already hard enough to cheat in the NFL and when you get caught, it’s a big deal. Probably explains their rings, why Brady is what he is now, etc.
You’re clearly defending him.

The infraction wasn’t the fact that they were recording, but the fact that they were on the opponents sideline. If he recorded anywhere else in the stadium, even right behind them in the stands, it wouldn’t have been problem.
I’m sure stuff like this goes on all the time in the NFL
by The Licensed Pessimist on Jan 8, 2012 3:38 PM EST up reply actions
No. There wasn’t proof that they did. But Denver got busted doing that last year though.

Finally realized what #17 jersey the old lady is wearing in the commercial.
Brian Sipe. Good choice.

I was worried about that.

That it was either an Edwards or Delhomme jersey?

I figured the only Delhomme jerseys in existence were the ones issued to Delhomme for games.
Oh, and the most recent edition of this one:

Falcons beat the lions so proly pick 23.

Head-to-head is irrelevant for draft — it all depends on strength of schedule. Lions still probably ahead. We also need the Broncos to win.

Can’t wait for Tebow v Shittsburgh
"A drug person can learn to cope with things like seeing their dead grandmother crawling up their leg with a knife in her teeth. But no one should be asked to handle this trip." Thompson

Is it possible the field opens up and both teams fall into hell?

Everyone except Tebow would fall to the depths.

I saw it happen in the Dark Knight Rises trailer, it’s very possible.

There’s more playoff spots then good teams this year…I highly doubt this Pit/Den game will be a contest.

Ben is banged up… No Mendenhall, no Pouncy. Those are key players. I’d say their is a good chance for a competitive game.
"A drug person can learn to cope with things like seeing their dead grandmother crawling up their leg with a knife in her teeth. But no one should be asked to handle this trip." Thompson
The steelers are extremely injured. The Tebows have done well against limping teams
by The Licensed Pessimist on Jan 8, 2012 3:46 PM EST up reply actions
If that Denver front can get to Ben all game, they have a chance. They gotta score some points somehow, though.
"A drug person can learn to cope with things like seeing their dead grandmother crawling up their leg with a knife in her teeth. But no one should be asked to handle this trip." Thompson
I predict the Broncos just might win this. The offense will probably have a horrible game, but they will pull it out.

I hope you’re right. I’d love nothing more today.
"A drug person can learn to cope with things like seeing their dead grandmother crawling up their leg with a knife in her teeth. But no one should be asked to handle this trip." Thompson
I don’t. I don’t want to experience the hype that comes along with Tebow beating an ex-superbowl champ, and the ignoring just how injured and broken the Steelers are which made it possible. Pittsburgh sucks as a team right now, so they’ll lose sooner or later.
by The Licensed Pessimist on Jan 8, 2012 3:57 PM EST up reply actions
I’m skeptical.
I’m expecting the blowout that everyone outside of Pitt is afraid of. Just enough to be painfully boring to watch too.
Dawgs By Nature - Where winning, apparently, did some bad things.
Somewhere around there, maybe 24 – 3, just to be extra boring.
Dawgs By Nature - Where winning, apparently, did some bad things.
Don’t get me wrong, Denver is horrible. But they’re at home and Shitt is all banged up.
Denver D might bring their big boy pants and keep it close. Hell, the Browns did in both games.
