It has been a long time since I have written a post on this site. I am in the US Air Force and have not had a decent chance to get on this site and contribute as much as I would like to. But I am on my way back to this site. I have been a Browns fan for 31 years, my whole life, and there is something that worries me. I know the team is 0-5 and on their way to a team record of most consecutive losses. But you know what I have been thinking about? Uniforms.
I, currently, am stationed in South Korea and cannot watch the Dawgs every week. I tend to watch the teams that I own fantasy players. That being said, I have noticed the new Nike uniforms for many teams. I am not a fan of any of them. I don’t like the color look of teams like the Saints or Broncos. I don’t like the zigzag stripe design on the Colts jersey, among others. The only different jersey in the Seattle Seahawks, and the bright green may be a little too much in the new uniform.
So now I get to the point. Do the Browns need a new jersey design? There have been talks about Haslam changing the uniforms in a few seasons, and I am for that… to an extent. The helmets need to stay, without change. I think that the team could use a few tweaks to the current design. I like the orange jerseys for home games, but I do not want to see the colors change. Paul Brown chose the colors of the team because he likes the autumn colors of the BGSU Falcons, and I like the fact that the colors were chosen in 1946. I am a traditionalist and want to keep things basically the same.
Here is my options for the new uniform design, spiked pin stripes on the jerseys. I would like you to think of the Bronco’s or Cardinal’s jerseys. The extra spikes up the sides may work. I honestly do not want to see the change, but if it does I hope that it is not too drastic. I know that this has nothing to do with the lack of talent the team has right now, but I am trying to get back in the swing of this. Please let me know what you thing about the uniform issue.
