I think you have to see this as the first indication that Banner and Haslam are not satisfied with how this team is constituted: It would make no sense that Heckert would sign this guy to a 3 year deal with a $6 mill guarantee and then cut him before the end of the year. I read this as an indication that we are going to be much more active in free agency than the last three years.
