After a scoreless first quarter, the Cleveland Browns' offense got hot at the start of the second quarter. Phil Dawson's field goal made it 3-0, and a few moments later, Brandon Weeden connected with Josh Gordon for a 44-yard touchdown to make it 10-0.

The Raiders added a 51-yard field goal from Sebastian Janikowski to cut Cleveland's lead to 10-3. The Raiders tried to put together a two-minute drive to end the half after Weeden's second interception, but Janikowski's 61-yard attempt at the gun was wide right.
