The Positive Changes That Are On The Way

Ladies and Gents,
Everyone is upset, including yours truly. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it. We have one more game left and then the off season we all have been waiting for is coming. You may like the changes coming, you may not. But in my opinion, and I read & listen a whole lot, it should turn out pretty well.

Here's what we got-

Joe Banner wants power. He doesn't want an argumentative GM that is going to disagree with his every move. The only person willing to take that role is Mr. Michael Lombardi. And I'm not a fan. Not a lot of people are. But really, what credible individual in the league wants to take on that position? Not a lot of people but him. He is dying to get back in the NFL.

But there are positives of this happening. One- Lombardi wont have much of a say because Banner wants to run the show. If he tries to make a dumb move, it most likely wont go through. Two- Lombardi has connections. From all the people he has met in the league and through the NFL network, he does know people, who could help improve this franchise. 3- He doesn't like Weeden at all, so the chances of him being the starter are slim. Do I think Weeden needs to be removed immediately from his starting role? I'm not sure, but I'm definitely not going to be opposed if he brings in someone who can significantly play QB better than Weeden. 4- He has connections to Josh McDaniel's, which obviously isn't the best thing in the world, but it has some positives from it. He could bring over Ryan Mallet with him and work him into the west coast offense.

Why Mallet is suited for the West Coast offense- He is 6"6!! He will be able to make those short passes over the interior of the defense without them being batted down. He also has an arm that is 33 inches long. His length and strength are good for deep balls, but they are also good for short balls as well. Ryan Mallet could be used in the west coast offense if everything is coordinated correctly. The play of Flash and Greg Little would improve significantly if we had someone who could make those short passes without the ball being batted down or intercepted.

Simply put, there are positives that come from this. I understand everyone is frustrated, but for the first time in a while, I trust what is being done in the front office right now. The changes coming are going to put this franchise back on track to be successful.

The Cleveland Browns are one of the most historical franchises to ever play in the NFL. It's time to start winning again.
