Cleveland Browns fire Pat Shurmur and Tom Heckert

It's official.

The Cleveland Browns have fired head coach Pat Shurmur and general manager Tom Heckert according to multiple reports. This comes just a few days after The Plain Dealer revealed on Saturday night that the firings were expected to come regardless of the outcome of Sunday's game against the Steelers.

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer broke the "official" news of Shurmur's dismissal first on Twitter. Shortly after, news started flooding in backing up the tweet and revealing Heckert's fate as well.

Shurmur was with the Browns for two years and finished with a record of 9-23.

Heckert was with Cleveland for three years, in the team's draft war room from 2010-2012.

As was widely speculated for months since CEO Joe Banner was hired, Heckert told The Plain Dealer his departure was about the the final say he had in his contract:
