Anyone who wants Alshon Jeffery needs to see what he looks like. Far left. The fat one.
Side note: That is Melvin Ingram on the right.

All I’m saying is, if a person can play the position well, does it matter whether they have washboard abs?
B19K prefers washboard abs.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
Not washboard abs, but not Shaun Rogers gut.
At least on a WR.

No, but a player keeping himself in shape should be a concern.
Mike Williams is a perfect example. Dude killed it in college, got too big and couldn’t cut it in the League.
Something about Jeffery stinks.

A lot of people have been saying Jeffery overrated recently, so I’d be really hesitant. But just as you can find one picture that’s unflattering, you can find one where he’s jumping three feet in the air and catch an overthrown pass one-handed.
Well, there’s a bit of a difference… The effects of being fat stick around a little bit longer than any catches like that. You make a catch like that and it’s over in seconds. You get fat and, well, you stay fat for a little longer.
Keeping himself in shape is definitely a concern. The kid has skills, but if he is going to weigh 280, he won’t be able to use them.

That would still be a problem.

I’m hoping there are reports out there saying this guy has offseason work ethic issues or something. I’d hate to think we’re actually calling this a problem based a picture found online.
I’m hoping he gets his ass in shape so someone else takes him and he’s not the best WR choice we have at 22.
That would still be a problem.
I’m not saying it is a problem for him. I’m saying if the case BY describes were real that it would be a problem.

He looks pretty big here too.. I wonder what dates these were taken. Maybe not a big deal if they were both about the same time. More troubling if they aren’t and that this is a re-occurring issue.
It’s not just that, Rotoworld has reported that he is fat and slow right now.

Appearing on media conference call Wednesday, NFL Network’s Mike Mayock confirmed that he’s heard the rumors about South Carolina WR Alshon Jeffery’s weight ballooning before the Combine.
Mayock emphasized that Jeffery needs desperately to get in shape and run well in the forty-yard dash. “Alshon Jeffery does not separate,” said Mayock. “What those guys run is important. He needs to run somewhere in those mid-4.5s.” Mayock recently bumped Jeffery down his receiver rankings and does not believe he’ll be a first-round pick. “Big and fast is good,” said Mayock. “Big and slow is bad. Bottom line is, he has got to run well.”

I read Mayock’s comments regarding Jeffrey on PFT yesterday. I’m not saying he isn’t overrated nor am I saying the Browns should draft him. All I was trying to say is that we shouldn’t judge a guy based on a picture like this. If the combine and the rest of the scouting proves he’s completely out of shape, that’s reasonable.
A picture speaks a thousand words.

Tom Brady swooning a goat.

Terrance Cody weighing in at the combine.

Jimmy Clausen…uh…hmm…
Honor. Courage. Commitment.

I think I saw Terrance Cody in National Geographic when I was a kid.

No but I heard him and Heckert are “buffet buddies”. They basically travel to different buffets every weekend and put them out of business.

Can we draft #98? That guy has a great frame.

I will withhold judgement until after the combine… if he runs a 4.3 then its that much more amazing.

Well now that’s just crazy talk. Why waste our time, we can see right now he’s clearly obese.
Everyone is obese these days. According to obesity charts, practically everyone in the NFL would be considered obese. Check it out, it’s unreal: http://www.jodohonline.com/dietpills/obesity_chart.htm
BMI is a horrible measurement of obesity.

exactly. We are talking Jeffery as obese based on the eye test. bmi says a 6’0’’ 185 pound WR is overweight.

that’s also the same measurement that says Kate moss is only slightly underweight.
