Morning Dawg Chow (2/2/12)
- "POLL: Who Are the Best Browns Since 1999? Defense" (Waiting For Next Year) - Most of us have already filled out the offensive version of this poll, but it certainly wasn't easy. We can only hope that the defensive one isn't nearly as painful.
- "Former Eagles Westbrook, McNabb endorse Childress: Super Bowl Insider" (Plain Dealer) - It would appear that Mary Kay Cabot heard from McNabb and Westbrook in Indianapolis. They both voiced their approval of Childress.
- "Rating AFC North QBs on Dilfer scale" (ESPN AFC North Blog) - This is a nice little article that discusses Dilfer's comments on the AFC North QB's in his Top 40 QB rankings (pay wall). Colt McCoy is ranked "Short leash."
- "Brad Childress has knowledge ... and baggage: Terry Pluto's Talkin'" (Plain Dealer) - This one is a few days older, but it's good. Here Pluto breaks down some of Brad Childress' previous positions and the sort of roles he played on those teams.
NFL:
- "Julian Edelman, from Kent State, and Giants' Chase Blackburn, from Akron" (Cleveland.com) - This isn't Browns related, but it's definitely Ohio related. This article mentions Super Bowl players from the MAC in years past and those helping to carry the "MAC banner" this year.
- "NFL fines Umenyiora $20,000 for media absence" (Yahoo! Sports) - In case you haven't heard, outside of "Gronk-Watch," the biggest news might have been that Osi Umenyiora was fined a whopping $20,000 for missing the all important Super Bowl media circus.
- "Gronkowski misses fourth straight practice with ankle sprain" (SI.com) - Speaking of Gronk-Watch, Gronkowski missed his fourth strait practice due to his high ankle sprain. Meanwhile, Bill Bellichick's comments on the situation are very Bellichickian, "We had our moments."
- Irsay planning to take time on Manning decision (Yahoo! Sports) - Unfortunately it seemed that I couldn't even go two days without linking to a Peyton Manning story. It just seems to me that it's an extremely hard decision to make and he's pushing it off. Ultimately, they'll hand the keys to Luck.

Can I just ask something OT? What in the hell is up with the hairy man in white-tight brand underdrawers and a ski mask that shows up whenever I come to DBN? Why??

It stayed on on my comp last night, seems to be an ad for a new TV show on Adult Swim.
We'll be kicking ourselves if we don't get Burflict.

I don’t mind the ads (hell I might even click on them if I knew that’s how Chris gets paid) but those expanding banners piss me off.

Nope, so don’t click on my behalf. Only click if you feel the ad fits your demographic.

Its an SB Nation campaign ad, with the heavy promotion being today (since it is the season premiere). A similar question was asked by a few other NFL bloggers. We were told that the campaign should start to fizzle out after today.

It’s another one of Adult Swim’s Joe Thomas awful live action shows. The only exception I can think of is Saul of the Molemen. Everything else they produce that isn’t in cartoon/stop-motion formats is turrrrrrble.

CN/AS is horrible. I’ll watch Family Guy at 11pm, but that’s it.

Would it be a bad idea to bring McNabb in if we can’t get a QB in the draft?
Pros: He knows our entire FO from Philly. He should know the offense more or less. It would be similar to bringing in Delhomme to help McCoy.
Cons: He isn’t as good as he was. He seems somewhat content with his time in the NFL and might not play as hard as McCoy or un-named drafted QB.
So we can have 1 more mediocre at best QB?

you think wallace is mediocre???
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
actually, i was just being my usual cynical self in the sense that adding mcnabb will not be an improvement at all and wallace will still be our best qb which is a satire on the fact that wallace is, in fact, a fairly bad qb.
