@DawgsByNature just got a post dissed by @ErinAndrews at 2011 @clesports.
---------------
UPDATE (2/3/12): A different spin from TD at Waiting for Next Year:"essentially she said she was reading your site [DBN] for research about the psyche of Cleveland fans and she said "has anyone read this site?" Then she talked about a particular article she read. I didn’t think it was negative at all."

What does any of this mean? Erin Andrews dissed one of our posts at the Cleveland Sports and Wolf overheard?

Is it only me who feels a little pride because of this?
Yes im a troll. Yes I hate everyone. Yes I like Colt McCoy. Yes Im 4 years old. Yes I get butt hurt. Deal with it.
Over the last day or so the DBN twitter feed has become very opinionated. Now if it is Chris or Rufio replying to twitter feeds then that is OK. I signed up for the Twitter feed to get updates on Posts, but it has been used for opinions of who? We dont know. I kinda know but I think we really have to watch what is spewwed out there. We want people to come Here to discuss.
Leave the opinions for the site.
Thanks

its probably a good idea chris didnt give me access to the twitter
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
That would be me. We thought as a group her at DBN that we needed to get a more active twitter account, and in the past couple of days, mostly thanks to Erin Andrews, our mentions have skyrocketed.
The more people we have aware that we exist, the more visitors, and new Browns fans we will get. I don’t say anything on Twitter that I wouldn’t say here. Don’t be scared to tell me I’m an idiot on twitter either.

There is a difference between “company” twitter feeds and “Personal account” twitter feeds, when you are stating an opinion as in “Tony Grossi is the most irrelevant sports writer in the world” you are representing this site. And not everyone agrees with that statement but because it was tweeted from this site, it is now the opinion of this site.
As a member of this community, you now represent us all when you are on twitter so…I dont know keep that in mind or just dont worry bout it, was just my 2 cents

Just because we comment on this site doesn’t mean we own it. Chris and the rest of the contributors are the ones who run the blog. Think of it this way: Tony Grossi was allowed to say things that didn’t reflect the opinions of all of his commenters too.

When Grossi made comments you knew it was coming from Grossi. With tweets from a group you assume the group agrees with the tweet., just sayin

Not really. That’s the beauty of this site. There’s hundreds of different people and they all have their own opinions.

Dude, do you not get the humor in that comment? Or is your comedy meter broken?
That is the only tweet that is anything outside of 100% professional the way you are looking at it, and it’s really not a bad tweet.

Dude (people still say that?) I have plenty of humor, but must call you out for something that has bugged me for awhile now. Looking at your twitter feed I see its a matter of age and thats ok, but here goes:
I have noticed when you find someone with a differing opinion than you, you resort to name calling, etc “calling me goddamn stuffy”, “comedy meter broken” etc. Rather than see where I am coming from and offer a counter point like the others have done. It might be a generation thing, I dont know.
My favorite comedian? Henny Youngman :)
"There's a gleam men, there's a gleam!" Marty
I wouldn’t call the “comedy meter broken” an insult at all. maybe a bit of a snarky remark, but there is a difference. There is a different threshold for “insult” in the internet than insult in real life.
Yeah, goddamn stuffy was most likely an insult, but you posted twice about similar topics, basically saying the same thing. Both times, you seemed to completely miss the humor in the tweets and yes, humor is harder to interpret without the tone of voice, but you seemed to be the only person here who couldn’t tell it was a joke.
And I don’t just go throwing around insults to people that have a differing opinion of mine. I am actually insulted by this, because I rarely stoop to the kinds of insulting language that is clearly over the line. I did it to DNH recently and that was a mistake, but that was the first time I think I did that to ANYBODY on the internet in months.

What is up with the old fogies around here whining all the time? This is the internet dude (yes people say that). Grow up and stop being so sensitive.

Ha, I wasn’t whining just bringing some things to think about regarding the new way the site tweets. I think it lead to some good discussion, and maybe we are sensitive and grumpy because we have watched more bad football than you younglings. :)

Keep it up. I couldn’t disagree more with RR88.
This is a site of opinions. Why wouldn’t the feed represent that? The more active the conversation is on Twitter, the more eyeballs you get on the site. And frankly, a Twitter feed that is simply a link to every post on DBN is boring. I can check DBN if I want to know what the latest story posted is.
Your Twitter feed does not represent RR88. It doesn’t represent me. It represents the site, which you guys run. We comment on it.

That’s what I’m trying to do with the FB page. I don’t want it to just be story links either.

I’m really hoping that there is some truth to this. But remember to consider the source.
My guess is that she may have just “dissed” rooting for the Giants, underdogs, fantasy football, or mentioning spygate. All of which were talked about in my “recent Giants post” and I can picture being considered a “diss.”
Again, I’m hoping the tweet isn’t just grasping at straws because it would be both awesome and amusing to know she actually read DBN at some point.
WFNY had a different take, kind of, on their Twitter feed:
In her monologue – Erin Andrews just referenced reading Dawgs By Nature for research. #props
I like how we get mentioned, but received no invitation to the event ;)
Dawgs By Nature - Covering the Cleveland Browns on SB Nation.
This is pretty cool, I want to know what she actually said.

I’m going to try to get an answer from someone who was at the event. If I don’t hear back from people, I’ll eventually just ask Terry Pluto since he seems responsive to questions always.

Awesome that she gave DBN some props…this was our reply over Twitter to her:
@ErinAndrews I heard you talked about DawgsByNature tonight. If you want to go on a date, you just had to ask!
Might want to reel in the people allowed to Tweet.

Is there a problem with telling Erin Andrews that we are open to a date?

I think it’s pretty clear this was a joke. You can’t take a blog on a date, much as we might like that.

I just got a response from TD at Waiting for Next Year (I asked him for more details). Here’s what he said:

So, Erin Andrews might have actually read something I wrote? And, being that shes a huge fan of 19th century french poetry, thought my screen name was “hot”? Really? Thats awesome. My wife wont care.
