Joe Haden Takes on Aaron Rodgers in Madden 2013 Cover Vote

Stay connected for news and updates

Browns fans stood out in the Madden tournament last year with Peyton Hillis...will they do it again this year with Joe Haden?

Can Cleveland fans work their magic again? Perhaps the better question is this: will they dare even consider it after what happened with Peyton Hillis this season?

The tournament to determine who will be on the cover of Madden '13 began today with a field of 32 contestants. Most teams have one candidate, and the candidate for the Browns this year is cornerback Joe Haden. Haden beat out Joe Thomas in a teammate vs. teammate vote last week. While fans adore both Haden and Thomas, it might be saying volumes that Haden had more votes than Thomas when it comes to fans not wanting a Cleveland player on the cover (i.e. Thomas conquers everyone, so fans saved him from the doom of the Madden Cover).

Anyway, Haden matches up against Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers this week. Rodgers was defeated in the semi-finals by Hillis last season. Can a member of the Browns pull off another upset over Rodgers? Will you be supporting Haden for the cover of Madden '13?

While the voting process is kind of cool to generate conversation, ultimately, I think it should not be up to the public to prevent repeat winners.
