It seems like many people on out lovely DBN have pets (specifically dogs and a tortoise with a really cool enclosure and Ninja Warrior-like obstacle course). It seems that a site named DAWGS by Nature would be receptive to a thread about animals.

The truth is, anyone who has a pet/s, be it/they dog, cat, ninja tortoise, hermit crab, whatever, loves to talk about it/them.

ITT: talk about your pets; their names and reasons behind their names, post pictures, stories, memoirs for pets you've had in the past, if you've had a pet that you've had to give away, all of the above. If you don't have pets, why not? If you don't want pets, why not?

Front and center, of course, are my boys Otto and Rush. Otto, a Boston Terrier Beagle, was originally named after my girlfriend's professor's father (he suggested it and she liked the name) but I tell everyone he is named after Otto Graham. He's 5 years old, occasionally has seizures, and we just found out he has Lyme Disease. Rush, a Vizsla, is named specifically after Mega Man's dog, who is named after Rush, the band, which is also one of my favorite bans ever so it works out quite well. Rush is just over a year and a half old. He is still coming into his own but he still acts very puppyish. Vizsla's are hunting dogs, specifically pointers, that are very high energy. He's put up a couple birds the few times he's gone out which makes me proud. For anyone who hunts and has their own hunting dog, there are few cooler things than watching your hunting partner do what he was bred to do and enjoy the hell out of it!
