Browns Scout WR Josh Gordon for Supplemental Draft

Stay connected for news and updates

A few of you have already been discussing Baylor wide receiver Josh Gordon in a FanShot, since he will probably be the most-hyped player entering this year's Supplemental Draft, which takes place on July 12. It has been reported that he could be taken as high as the third round. Gordon had a workout today, and according to Adam Caplan, plenty of teams, including the Cleveland Browns, had someone in attendance:

Adam Schefter originally touted Josh Gordon by saying he is "bigger, faster, and stronger than former Baylor teammate Kendall Wright." Schefter also said that "as far as supplemental drafts go, he is a rare talent."

This doesn't mean the Browns are strongly considering Gordon, as it is common practice for teams to due their due diligence (after all, what else are scouts going to do at this time of the year?). By being in attendance, though, at should at least indicate that Cleveland may be interested in Gordon if a team does not submit a bid for a high-round pick.

Mocking the Draft posted the following results of Gordon's workout:

Standing at 6-feet-3-inches tall and weighing 224 pounds, Gordon ran a 4.52 in the forty-yard dash, while posting a 36-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot, one-inch broad jump. Gordon also did 13 reps on the bench press.

UPDATE: Tony Pauline is reporting that Gordon injured his quad during the forty-yard dash, but he will still attempt to run routes.
