Oregon head coach Chip Kelly will interview with three NFL teams about their head-coaching vacancies.
Oregon Ducks head coach Chip Kelly will interview with the Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles about the possibility of becoming their next head coach, according to a USA Today report. Kelly is coaching the Ducks in the Fiesta Bowl against Kansas State on Thursday night in what could be his last game with Oregon.
Kelly is the hottest head-coaching target in the NFL after four seasons as the Oregon head coach. He has lead the Ducks to a BCS bowl game in each of his four seasons, including a trip to the National Championship Game in 2010, where he lost 22-19 to the Auburn Tigers.
Seven NFL teams fired their head coach on Monday, Dec. 31, and Kelly is the most sought-after replacement. It is expected that he will meet with the Browns, Bills and Eagles in Phoenix, where the Fiesta Bowl takes place on Wednesday. The interviews are expected to take place on Friday and over the weekend.
