Hello DBN, my name is Reddgie. I am a diehard Eagles fan and aspiring contributor for Bleeding Green Nation and I am here to ask for your assistance. As you may know, it is being reported that we are going to hire Billy Davis to be our DC. I was hoping that some of you would take a moment or two and provide your thoughts, opinions and feelings on him. Specifically, I was hoping you could share your thoughts on what he was able to do with your defense from a performance and schematic sense in his time as your DC. The premise of my FanPost for BGN is going to focus on the status of the Defense he inherited versus the status of the Defense he is passing on to whoever becomes his predecessor. My thinking is that he has improved that Defense in his time there, but that is purely speculation and based on nothing more than my casual observations as a football fan whom focuses primarily on the Eagles and the NFC East.

Please note that I just joined, and per the terms of joining, it is highly recommended that a new member peruse the existing FanPosts and formulate an idea of what the norm is and what is expected. I respect that and think it is a great idea. However, in the interest of transparency, I haven’t done that. Not yet, at least. I am going to spend a fair bit of time here on DBN this afternoon to really soak in and familiarize myself with your community. I hope that is okay, my putting the cart before the horse. The fact is, I hope to put together the FanPost no later than tomorrow morning, and as such, time is of the essence.

And, to try to win over DBN in a shameless effort to try to get what I want, here is a joke for you (and this is an oldie but goodie, and IMO, funny because it’s true). And I have to give credit to fellow BGNer tst29 for the joke, I am stealing this from him.

In a school just outside Pittsburgh, a first grade teacher explained to her class that she is a Steelers Fan. She asked her students to raise their hands if they are Steelers fans too. Not really knowing what a Steelers fan is, but wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands all fly into the air with one exception. A little boy named Timmy has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks him why he has decided to be different. "Because I am not a Steelers fan." says Timmy. The teacher asks "Then what are you?" Timmy says "I am a proud Cleveland Browns fan!" The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Timmy why he is a Browns fan. "Well, my Mom and Dad are Browns fans so I'm a Browns fan, too." Timmy responds. The teacher is now angry. "That's no reason," she says loudly. "What if your Mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot? Timmy smiled and said, "Then I'd be a Steelers fan."
