The draft rumors are starting to heat up! ESPN Rumor Central's Brent Sobleski posted a couple of notes about prospects the Cleveland Browns might be interested in with the No. 6 overall pick. The first one involved a reported suggestion from Browns defensive coordinator Ray Horton:
Source: Browns' DC Horton made his case to Chudzinski for the #Browns to select Dion Jordan at No. 6.— Brent Sobleski (@brentsobleski) April 23, 2013
Six of our seven staff members ranked Dion Jordan as the No. 1 player on our Cleveland Browns Big Boards. If true, we'll see how strong Horton's suggestion resonates with head coach Rob Chudzinski, who will be one of four people voting on who the Browns will draft. The other three people with votes include Michael Lombardi, Ray Farmer, and Joe Banner.
Another rumor from Sobleski involved cornerback Dee Milliner, although it was not directly related to the Browns:
SOURCE: San Francisco's target in a potential trade up situation is Dee Milliner. SF "wants and salivating over" the cornerback.— Brent Sobleski (@brentsobleski) April 23, 2013
I think this continues to help the Browns indirectly, though. The more competition there is for Milliner, the more likely that someone would trade up to No. 6 overall for him, allowing Cleveland to pick up a second-round pick in the process. Sobleski did add that the 49ers might feel they don't have to move into the top 10 to get Milliner, which might be a sign of his declining stock.
