Cleveland Browns:

  • "Browns QBs Impress Early" (FS Ohio) - "Always the most talked about position is quarterback and the final day of Organized Team Activities (OTA) for the first week, was no different. The Browns practiced Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with the final day the only day open to the media."
  • "Haslam Reiterates Commitment" (OBR) - "Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is headed back to Cleveland today after addressing hundreds of transportation company executives Thursday morning in the wake of the FBI’s investigation into alleged fraud committed by his family business, Pilot Flying J."
  • "Fiery Horton stoked about Browns defense" (Canton Rep) - "Ray Horton was ticked. The Browns were in the heat of 11-on-11s Thursday, and one of his guys was not on the field."
  • "Pinkston grateful to be back on the practice field after blood clot" (Plain Dealer) - "Browns guard Jason Pinkston has savored every moment of his return to football this week and hasn't run out of words to describe it. After spending five minutes Thursday answering questions about a blood clot in his lung that could have killed him last October, a second wave of reporters arrived with similar queries."

NFL:

  • "Worst Player Offseason Power Rankings" (SI.com) - "Between the draft and free agency, much of the NFL offseason is spent celebrating talent that’s either entering the league or on the move. The extended down time between the conclusion of one season and start of another, though, often means positive news is interrupted by more disheartening stories."
  • "Sources: Gronk set for 4th surgery" (ESPN) - "New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is scheduled to undergo a fourth surgery on his left forearm next week, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The exact date of the surgery is not yet set."
  • "Warrant issued for Chad Johnson" (AP) - "A warrant has been issued for the arrest of former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson in South Florida. The state attorney's office confirmed Thursday that a Broward circuit judge issued a warrant May 7 against Johnson for failing to report to his probation officer."
  • "Bills promote Whaley to take over as GM" (AP) - "Doug Whaley was promoted to take over as Buffalo Bills general manager, making the team's near top-to-bottom offseason overhaul complete. The much-anticipated decision to elevate Whaley from his position as assistant GM was announced Thursday, three days after Buddy Nix stepped down as GM."
