Browns Have a Roster Spot Open After Releasing Walcott

USA TODAY Sports

It's no secret that members of the Cleveland Browns (as well as their owner, Jimmy Haslam), have gotten into quite a bit of trouble this offseason:

This is the type of thing you would not have seen during the Eric Mangini era. With the exception of LB Ausar Walcott, who was just released by the team after charges for attempted murder were files, the other arrests will really be an afterthought in people's minds if they end up putting their football talent to use. The other players who have gotten into trouble this offseason include DE Desmond Bryant, DE Armonty Bryant, and OLB Quentin Groves.

With Walcott being released, the Browns now sit at 89 players. They will likely add an undrafted free agent, but the question is, what position should they add to? Should they do a direct positional replacement at linebacker, or should they give in and decide to add a fourth quarterback for training camp?

I was hoping the Browns would make a roster move soon for the sake of my training camp previews, but there's really no rush. We will continue our training camp preview on Friday with the offensive line. Usually, part one of the offensive line series consists of the team's five starters. Due to the unique situation at offensive guard this year, though, we will actually feature the starting guard competition on Saturday, with the rest of the backups on Sunday.
