For now, Barkevious Mingo is a backup. Being behind Jabaal Sheard and Paul Kruger, Mingo may not crack the starting lineup this year but what's rush? Personally, I like the fact that he has to work his way up the depth chart and is not being handed a starting role. I think it will be good for his character for having to do so.
Look at Aldon Smith from the 49ers. That guy was basically a pass rusher on 3rd down and still tallied 14 sacks. I think starting Mingo slowly and working him into the lineup is going to benefit him in the NFL and the team long term.
I can't wait for the season to start!
