While there has been a ton of commentary here on how Bernie Kosar's comments were warranted and how he was being unfairly chastised, it's nice to finally here it from something other than a Cleveland media source. Yahoo's Frank Schwab posted this today:
Bernie was quoted as saying:
"I love the game so much and there’s no way I’d want to disrespect or hurt or make fun of any players or coaches. That being said, the way I look at the game and the way I like to analyze it from a football perspective, it is what it is. Again, I don’t want to disrespect or hurt any of the players or coaches in the league. But I do like the way I look at the game and I have strong feelings about how the game is played."
As stated in the article, this is definitively an explanation, rather than an apology. Personally, I'm glad that Bernie is holding his ground and I wish the NFL had more commentators who would give us the level of insight that he provides instead of the endless babble of politically correct cliche's we are used to hearing elsewhere.
Anyway, I'm curious- there are certainly a plethora of vocal DBN members who support Bernie's free speech, does anyone think that he was out of line?
