The Cleveland Browns' offensive woes continues in Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens, as they managed just six points on the day and saw their quarterback leave late in the fourth quarter with a thumb injury. Check out the snap distributions below for the offense, and let us know what your reactions are in the comments section.

Thoughts: The entire starting unit played 100 percent of the snaps this week. The offensive line yielded five sacks and 12 quarterback hits, which isn't much of an improvement over last week. The protection might have been marginally better, but no where near good enough.
Running Back / Fullback |
|
---|---|
Trent Richardson | Chris Ogbonnaya |
62% 39/63 plays |
52% 33/63 plays |
Trent Richardson: 18 carries, 58 yards, 3.2 YPC. 5 catches, 21 yards (5 targets).
Chris Ogbonnaya: 2 catches, 24 yards (3 targets).
Thoughts: There weren't many holes for Richardson to run through in the first half, but then he seemed to pick up a little steam in the third quarter, before receiving no carries in the fourth quarter. Richardson actually played a fewer percentage of snaps this week, despite the fact that the game was even closer than it was against Miami.
Ogbonnaya's workload was increased in terms of percentage, but the problem is that he is seeing too much work for a guy who contributes very little on offense. He's basically a waste of a player on the field, and defenses know we aren't going to run the ball when he is in the game.
Wide Receiver |

---|---|---|---|---|
Greg Little | Travis Benjamin | Davone Bess | Tori Gurley | Josh Cooper |
98% 62/63 plays |
86% 54/63 plays |
34% 54/63 plays |
6% 4/63 plays |
0% 0/63 plays |
Greg Little: 4 catches, 33 yards (12 targets).
Davone Bess: 5 catches, 38 yards (8 targets).
Travis Benjamin: 1 catch, 22 yards (1 target).
Tori Gurley: 0 catches (1 target).
Thoughts: After the first game of the season, I thought the Browns' receivers had gotten some separation against the Dolphins. That didn't seem to be the case against Baltimore; it appeared as though they struggled mightily in beating man-to-man coverage, except for Bess on third down plays. Little has failed miserably at the opportunity to step up in Josh Gordon's absence, as he had three drops against Baltimore, each of which could have helped lead to scoring drives. Benjamin was only targeted once all game, which seemed a bit strange.
Tight End |
|
---|---|
Jordan Cameron | Gary Barnidge |
92% 58/63 plays |
49% 31/63 plays |
Jordan Cameron: 5 catches, 95 yards (7 targets).
Gary Barnidge: No stats registered.
Thoughts: The Browns' best threat again was Cameron, who just missed becoming the team's first tight end in a long time to have back-to-back 100-yard games. The one regret he has is probably coming up just shy of a first down on a fourth down reception. Barnidge was not targeted at all.
Quarterback |
|
---|---|
Brandon Weeden | Jason Campbell |
92% 58/63 plays |
8% 5/63 plays |
Brandon Weeden: 21-of-33 for 227 yards. 2 carries, 7 yards.
Jason Campbell: 1-of-4 for 6 yards.
Thoughts: Besides the misfire to Ogbonnaya (which was certainly costly), Weeden played a responsible game. It's clear that he's not a quarterback who can overcome the weaknesses around him, which is a disappointment. With that said, I don't look at Weeden and pin this loss on him. Campbell didn't look good in backup relief, but I'll give him a pass for coming in on his own one yard line with no practice reps with the first-teamers.
