Browns got beat in the trenches. Old adage still holds true.

When I was a young kid I used to religiously listen to Pete Franklin. Pete, as many of you may remember used to say that the majority of football games are won or loss in the trenches. Franklin was proved correct again over the years about many things and he was certainly proved right about football. Even with the evolution of the sport with the heavy emphasis on the passing game, Pete's adage still holds true. Remember how Peyton Manning looked ordinary against the Seahawks defense during the Super Bowl. This brings us to yesterday's game.

Brian Hoyer looked like Paul McDonald and the special teams looked like the keystone cops but plain and simple: we got beat at the line of scrimmage. The Jags front four just manhandled the Browns makeshift OL without Alex Mack.

On the defensive side of the ball: all the injuries came back to haunt us. There; AS WELL, we were overwhelmed by the Jags OL. DESPITE three interception by the the defensive backs courtesy of an over eager Blake BORTLES. In the end: it's the hand in the dirt and not the hand on the ball that wins most games. This was a great example of that old adage.
