Wanted to create a post to put our guys who we like at the end of the draft. These guys should be late round (5-7) type guys. Here are a couple of guys that I'd love to have on the Browns.
Brock Vereen (FS)- Played both safety and CB in college. Ran the fastest 40 time of the safeties at the combine. Would be great competition for Gipson.
Jeff Janis (WR)- Has the size 6'3", 219 lbs., and the speed 4.42 40 at the combine. Small school competition at Saginaw Valley St., but wouldn't have to start right away. I could see him getting some time in 4 WR sets next year and making a run at a starter spot in years 2 or 3 when Little has moved on.
Khairi Fortt (ILB)- If we miss out on guys like Shazier, Christian Jones, Skov, Borland, then taking a guy like Fortt late would make sense. Injury concerns may drop him in the draft, but he can play. Butkus award semifinalist.
Jeff Matthews (QB)- Even if we hopefully select a QB (Teddy or JFF), I think it makes sense to take a guy late we can develop. Ideally, the depth chart would go Teddy, Hoyer, Matthews.
Storm Johnson (RB)- Fumbles are a concern, but I just love watching this kid run the ball.
Colt Lyerla (TE)- Made major horrible mistakes in college, but is worth the risk as a 6th round pick. Talent is more worthy of a second round selection. Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes and is ready to be a professional.
These are some of the guys I like late, and I'd love to hear any names you'd like to hear called with the Browns late picks.
