The last time the Browns had two first tound picks they drafted Trent Richardson (3rd) and Brandon Weeden.(22nd pick) Several years earlier the Browns drafted twice in the first round as well and drafted Brady Quinn. Also 22nd overall. The lesson to be learned from these past mistakes is that when you need a QB you don't get greedy and try to get another good player first and hope that a decent QB is still there with your later pick..
It's looking more more likely now that not only will Johnny Manziel be available when we draft but so may Blake Bortles as well as others. As history as our guide; I believe we should take either Blake Bortles or if he is off the board, we should take Derek Carr.
Even if the Browns prefer Teddy Bridgewater or Johnny Manziel to my QB's, I'd still prefer they grab their guy at 4 instead of later beacuse we have still have 4 more picks in the first three rounds to fill other positions of need.
Yes: I love Sammy Watkins but there will be several very good WR's available at 26 and 36 which no longer is a must draft position with the recent signings of Hawkins and Burelson. Offensive line is actually a more crucial position of need now since the Browns are poised to re-establish a running game, so a stud OL at 26 would be my choice. A good receiver will still be there at 36.
I believe that Winston Churchill was correct when he said that: "those who have not learned history's lessons will be doomed to repeat them. Please Ray Farmer, Mike Pettine and Jimmy Haslam....don't let history repeat itself!
