We just learned that Josh Gordon could be potentially facing a one year ban from football, after which, he can apply for reinstatement. This was for a failed drug test, in which he tested positive for marijuana. Now my question is, if he can legally obtain it, and it doesn't enhance his performance, should he be punished for using it? Also, why are players held to a higher standard then owners(i.e. Jim Irsay). Irsay faces 4 felony accounts of possession, yet the NFL hasn't punished him at all. However, Gordon fails two tests and he is facing a year long ban, with the possibility of reinstatement after that. So my question is, why Gordon should be punished so severely, while the league simply looks the other way in Irsay's situation.
