Feeling Gordon's Void, Andrew Hawkins, A name you should get to know.

"Hawkins comes out here, is one of the hardest workers," said coach Mike Pettine. "Doesn’t know any speed other than full speed. He’s a guy that is truly trying to get better."

Hawkins has got good work ethic and great hands but what is really catching the coaching staffs eye is foot work! Hawkins jukes out defenders like a running back! Hes so elusive that cornerbacks are constantly guesing wrong wheather hes going to stop in a flash or spin around them!

"That’s my whole game," said Hawkins, bluntly about making the secondar"I can see why," Gilbert quickly retorted. "He’s out there making plays every day. I’d rather guard Gordon than him right now. Because he’s so little and quick."

"I’m flattered," said the 5-foot-7 Hawkins with a smile about Gilbert’s comment. "When you do come to a new team, you want to impress the players around you. Because those are the guys that see it first. …I’m learning. It’s the beginning stages. I still have a whole lot of work to do."y overthink his routes.

Andrew Hawkins is the Browns’ slot receiver. But Kyle Shanahan’s offenses in the past have lined up receivers all over he field, a pretty damn good reason why Hawkins should be exited to be a Cleveland Brown

"The way the offensive staff draws these plays up, I don’t want to say it takes pressure off the player, but, it’s the way an offense should be run," Hawkins said. "They put guys in a position to do what’s best for the team. And that takes a lot of pressure of the players as opposed to some offensive coordinators that say, ‘Hey, make this play work.’"

"I can see why," Gilbert quickly retorted. "He’s out there making plays every day. I’d rather guard [Josh] Gordon than him right now.

I still have a whole lot of work to do."

I know Miles Austin and Nate Burleson have been solid over there careers but i just cant help to think that there not going to be the answers for Gordon's absence. Hawkins who only had 2 drops last season, has great hands, and runs a 4.34 40, and looks like Shady McCoy when hes juking out opposing defenders. Theres no reason he shouldn't average 6-7 catches and 75-80 yards a game, I know typically you would assume Cameron would be the number one target with Gordon gone, but because Gordon will be gone that means most likely he will be double covered and wont be nearly as open as he was last season. Hell maybe it wont be Hawkins that emerges this season as the Browns number one receiver but id for one be real shocked if hes not!
