The final tune-up before training camp begins on Tuesday, June 10th, when the Cleveland Browns host a mandatory minicamp in Berea that will last three days, ending on Thursday, June 12th. The Browns are one of seven teams holding mandatory minicamp this week -- the other six teams include the Broncos, Saints, Cardinals, Lions, Bucs, and Bengals.
Per Fred Greetham of the OBR, the local media will be in attendance for all three days of minicamp. At the end of each day, we will try to do a cumulative summary of all the media's news and nuggets, just like we do for training camp.
#Browns minicamp runs Tues-Thurs this week. All sessions will be available to the media. After that nothing until training camp late July— Fred Greetham (@FredGreethamOBR) June 9, 2014
One of the big things we might learn this week is where some players will be on the depth chart heading into training camp. Here are some interesting notes about mandatory minicamp:
- Per league rules, minicamp must fall between Monday-Friday, with Monday being a take for players to take physicals, Tuesday-Thursday being the practice days, and Friday being an off day.
- Helmets are permitted, but no live contact is allowed.
- Two of the three days can be two-a-day sessions, provided a time limit is not exceeded and that one of the sessions on each two-a-day is a walk-through.
