Opinion/Poll: Who Would You See as Most Ideal New OC

Now that Shanahan is out its clear the Browns will need yet another change of Offensive Scheme, but after one of the most promising years in a while who do you think can come in and build a Playoff Offense?

For some reason Charlie Weis was the first name to appear and it popped up quickly. Personally I don't buy it that he could bring anything to the table. I'd likely support hiring a different former Jayhawks Coach in Mark Mangino, even with his Altercations and 0 NFL experience over Weis. (Though I wouldn't really want to see either near Berea anytime soon)

There are plenty others from last year's search, mainly Dirk Koetter (Atlanta), John DeFillipo (Oakland), and Bill Callahan (Dallas) as a big new name in Marc Trestman. Personally I find all, but DeFellipo really appealing.

Callahan is a solid coach coming from a currently hot Dallas Offense and his O-Line job and the success of the Cowboys line could make the transition easier for Thomas and Mack. That said he might take the most amount of work to get him out of his current job.

With our current QB issues it could certainly help to bring in the "Quarterback Whisperer" in Trestman. I do think he got a raw deal with Cutler in Chicago, but I would have to see him as somewhat uncertain.

Koetter may actually be my personal favorite. He had a very effective offense in Atlanta and with a far better O-Line than in Cleveland he could see great success. I see him as a tougher minded coach than Shanny was or Trestman could be, and that might be exactly what we need.

Other names will likely come up soon including Tony Sparano if Oakland doesn't chose to hire him. I've always wondered about the possibility of promoting Wilbert Montgomery to OC. He's only ever coached RB and TE, but he's been described as one of the best position coaches in the entire Cleveland Staff.
