MTD Live Draft Results.

Hi all!, I took part in the annual Mocking the Draft: Live Draft over the weekend. The picks were made against members of the other SB nation NFL blogs and just thought I'd share the results with some brief reasoning.

1:12 - Alvin "Bud" Dupree OLB Kentucky - Much like the DBN community draft the big 3 WRs were all gone before pick 12. Obviously, I love Dupree's athleticism and I believe you can never have enough pass-rushers.

1:19 - Danny Shelton NT Washington - I was happy to grab Shelton here at 19. I really wanted to grab a WR but, I like the depth of that position this year so, I decided to wait it out.

1:32 - TRADE!. Bryce Petty QB Baylor - Oooohh Shit!...he done did it now. Say what you will but, I'm a Petty fan and wanted to make sure I got him. I swapped 43 for 32 and 77 for 96 plus gave 229 to move up. A small price to pay IMO to lock up a QB of the future for that extra 5th year.

3:96 - Tre McBride WR William & Mary - Finally, I address the need at WR and feel pretty good with who I was able to land. McBride is a big bodied receiver 6' 210 who can make the circus catch and is dangerous with the ball in his hands. I'm confident enough to call him a poor man's OBJ. He needs a little polish to his game but, the skills he already posses' can't be taught.

4:111 Ben Heeney ILB Kansas - a player that some are already familiar with thanks to a great write up by OCCB Ben Heeney is a bargain at 111. He can make an immediate impact on special teams and sub packages. Should be able to take over for Dansby after next season.

4:115 Blake Bell TE Oklahoma - the TE class this year leaves a little to be desired but, with Bell I think I've landed a future star at the position. Heading into the pre-draft process Bell was viewed as quite the project but, his subservient workouts have made more people into buyers myself included. He will need time to develop but, his ceiling is quite high.

5:147 Durrell Eskridge FS Syracuse - Another project player but, Eskridge's size and ball skills warrant a draft selection. Given Gibson's unknown status after this upcoming season Eskindge can use his first year to develop and then step into a starting role in 2016 if need be.

6:189 Murcus Rush OLB Michigan St. - a productive 4 year starter at MSU with underrated athleticism. I can easily see Rush contributing right away on special teams and in a rotational role.

6:202 Jordan Taylor WR Rice - 6'5 210 4.5 40 need I say more...okay I will. Taylor has led rice in most receiving categories for the past 3 seasons putting up 54/842/7 last season.

Well, that sums it up here is a link to the Live Draft Tracker which should help with the scrutinizing.
