An impassioned plea to the DBN Staff regarding post-victory threads

We're going to win some games this year. As last year, when that happens it's going get very emotional, so much so that we're not going to be able to convey excitement with words alone. As such, the .gifs that people use; funny, silly, stupid - whatever, are wonderful, and pay off the emotions people feel after three hours of angst.

However, there are those that aren't really into to all that and would rather have a thread that is just discussion of the game. The symbiosis of this becomes challenging when considering the amount of space the .gif thread takes up and the time it takes for those pages to load (especially on mobile devices), as well as the challenges of having a serious discussion when so much ridiculousness is going on.

My suggestion is thus; let's have an immediate, emotional post game thread, where gifs, images, and ridiculousness rules the roost. And then like a half hour later, another, non-gif thread so that we can get into the serious discussion of the issues.

Last year we compromised by having split-threads; however invariably what happened was people were going to the discussion thread as previous conversations/disagreements/arguments had to be re-instituted which IMHO, took away from what should have been a fun and rollicking good time.

So, I am pleading humbly, that while split threads in this regard are inevitable, that it be done in a tapered-fashion, so that we can have our fun for a while and then get a jump on the week-long discussion heading into our next game.

I love this place. The post-victory (gif) thread is one of my favorite things ever. This is an effort to keep that alive while also acknowledging the desires of many within our community.

Thank you.
