Community Mock Draft

DBN Mock Draft Sign Ups: Spots are Filled!

Update: All spots are filled, thanks!

We still have four spots left open for our community mock draft: the Colts, Texans, Cowboys, and Packers. I guess no one wants to make the first obvious pick of Andrew Luck! Remember, though, we are trying to do two rounds of this mock draft at least. Also, as it was pointed out, the Raiders don't have a pick during that span. If someone still wants to make the Raiders' first pick (we'll jump to the fifth round after the first two rounds, and you can make a pick), feel free to sign up for them. If no one is interested, we'll just skip them.

The list of the current team general managers are after the jump. Even though it went against what I initially said, I let rufio have the Browns because the "decision tree" of comments after that kind of reflected that scenario. If you'd like to sign up, leave a comment with the team you want. The rules are listed here. Remember to send me an e-mail if you haven't already with your preferred e-mail address. I did not hear from everyone yet.

NOTE: Once all the spots are filled, I will post another note on DBN and then we'll try to get this thing started ASAP.

2012 NFL Draft: Sign Up for the DBN Community Mock Draft

It's time for the second annual Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, where we will collectively do a full-blown mock draft for at least the first two rounds. I will not be participating in the Mock Draft again, so that means all 32 teams will be open for you to become their "general manager." There are some special stipulations as to who can sign up, so be sure to read how things will work (after the jump).

With the 47th Pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Mock Draft, the St. Louis Rams Select...

With the 47th pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the St. Louis Rams select...

Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon

This selection and write-up was made by Don'tByBrownsQBJerseys:

I knew I wanted to go DT with this pick. The Rams have some age on their line and their starters combined for about 26 sacks. Verdict: they need some size and youth up front. I also considered Marvin Austin and Drake Nevis, but the former just doesn't possess the athleticism the other two have, and latter is just too small to take here with Paea available. Paea provides the perfect combination of size and speed for a Rams team in desperate need.

With the 46th Pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Mock Draft, the Denver Broncos Select...

With the 46th pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the Denver Broncos select...

Allen Bailey, DE, Miami

This selection and write-up was made by Bernie19Kosar:

With Liguet and Dareus, I have the middle of the defensive line fixed, now I need to address the ends. With the addition of Bailey and the return of Dumervil, the Broncos have turned a weakness before the draft, into the strength of their defense. I would kill for this draft.

With the 45th Pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Mock Draft, the San Francisco 49ers Select...

With the 45th pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select...

Rahim Moore, FS, UCLA

This selection and write-up was made by rufio:

There are several guys I like a lot still on the board for this pick, and they all play defense. That's great for the 49ers, who are more or less set on offense (either have good players or will be patient for young players to develop) outside of QB. The 49ers will need an edge rusher to play in their new 4-3, but I don't see that kind of playmaker here. I see more 3 technique DTs and guys who could shift between strong side end and DT on passing downs. So because I think he'll help San Francisco's defense the most, I am selecting Rahim Moore.

With the 44th Pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Mock Draft, the Detroit Lions Select...

With the 44th pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the Detroit Lions select...

Bruce Carter, LB, UNC

This selection and write-up was made by Bernie19Kosar:

Carter is an amazing value here in the second round. Adding him to Suh and Delmas gives the Lions a strong core at every level of their defense going forward. Carter has some injury and off the field concerns, but his upside is huge. Schwatrz is a defensive coach, I can't see him passing on Carter here.

With the 43rd Pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Mock Draft, the Minnesota Vikings Select...

With the 43rd pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select...

Ras-I Dowling, CB, Virginia

This selection and write-up was made by Simmsinns:

With the QB situation taken care of in the first round and all of the top offensive linemen taken already, the Vikings can look to address other needs elsewhere. As Winfield isn't getting any younger, they could use some more depth at secondary. Dowling had some injury issues at the time of the combine, but had a solid personal pro day work out 2 weeks ago, running a 4.37 40, a vertical of 38 inches and a broad jump of 10-8. He appeared fine in the drills and seems to have solidified a justifiable second round nod.

With the 42nd pick in the 2011 Dawgs By Nature Community Mock Draft, the Houston Texans select...

Brandon Harris, CB, Miami

This selection and write-up was made by rdy:

For me, Brandon Harris is in the same tier as Jimmy Smith, and Aaron Williams. Getting him here in round 2 is a perfect fit and will help the pass defense along with Aldon Smith.
