Jets' Receivers' Injuries Present Similar Situation

Last week, we had the advantage of having Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald out for the entire game, and Anquan Boldin out for another good portion of the game. However, without a good defensive push up front -- particularly without Orpheus Roye or Ethan Kelley to provide depth -- Kurt Warner was still comfortably able to find his necessary targets.

Today, we may have the same "advantage" as we had last week. The Jets' top receiver, Jerricho Cotchery, is doubtful with a broken finger. Wide receiver Laveranues Coles is listed as questionable with a high ankle sprain. Coles has played through injuries throughout his entire career, but he's been "noticeably hobbled" in practice during the week, which will probably limit him from being at his best today.

That means that Youngstown, Ohio native Brad Smith could get the start at receiver. The former quarterback out of Missouri has 23 receptions for 253 yards and two touchdowns. One of those touchdowns came last week against the Miami Dolphins. Kellen Clemons isn't afraid to gun the ball, and Smith has the potential to get down the field quickly.
