Andruzzi's Cancer, Cribbs Fielding Punts

I'd like to wish good luck to former Browns offensive lineman Joseph Andruzzi, who was diagnosed with lymphoma, a form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Although the cancer is very serious, Andruzzi is expected to make a full recovery with the proper treatment, which began on Friday. The cure rate for Andruzzi's disease is typically 80 percent.

"From what we understand, it's an aggressive lymphoma, but responds well to aggressive treatment," said Joe Linta, Andruzzi's agent.

Everyone knows that the release of Andruzzi back on May 2 was a decision that came down to numbers compared to performances last season. That doesn't diminish the fact that Andruzzi always seemed to give his best effort, and was able to withstand punishment on the line nearly the whole season while everyone else was injured.

Now, here are some tidbits regarding the Cleveland Browns on this cooler Sunday morning:

  1. Championship: The Cavs are going to the Super Bowl!...err, I mean, the NBA Finals. For the first time in history, the Cavaliers have made it to the final stage in basketball, and that means all attention will be focused on them for the time being. If a member of the Browns organization wants to do something embarrassing publicly and not receive much attention from it, this would be the time to do it.
  2. Contact Made: The Browns have made contact with the agents of all of their top draft picks. No word on whether or not any serious progression was made or not.
  3. OTA Position Battles: Seriously, how much do OTAs really affect where someone will be on opening day? Probably slim to none. Training camp is where things start getting serious.
  4. Cribbs Catching: According to head coach Romeo Crennel, Joshua Cribbs is now making clean catches on punts. Last year, Cribbs stated that Dennis Northcutt caught punts every day, while he caught kickoffs. Now, since Cribbs is fielding punts, he says that he has complete confidence in doing the job with ease. He also wants to be involved in the Browns offense more this year.
